What is West Coast Swing (WCS)?
West Coast Swing (WCS) is California’s national dance and has been one of the most popular social dances worldwide for years!
It belongs to the family of swing dances (e.g. Lindy Hop, Balboa, Boogie Woogie, Blues) and found its origins in the 1940s. However, WCS has evolved with the music and has taken many influences from other dances (e.g. salsa, zouk, kizomba, tango argentino).
What makes this dance so exciting is that it is constantly evolving and incorporating new elements. You can dance WCS to almost any music that is in 4/4 time. Whether pop, rock, soul, swing or something completely different – here you will definitely find music that you like!
There are many more reasons why more and more people are falling in love with WCS
One of them is the freedom you get as a leader and especially as a follower. In hardly any other dance does the follower have as much to say as in WCS. In addition, we can improvise a lot and let our own style flow into this dance. This makes changing partners more exciting, because with each new partner a whole new dance is created!
During the West Coast Swing Bootcampfor absolute Beginners you will first learn the basic patterns of WCS and have plenty of time to practice them on a variety of songs. We will then show you small improvisations and “games” within the basics you have already learned, so that you can immediately try the freedom of WCS and get a better feeling for this amazing dance.

Your teachers
Dino discovered WCS in 2015 after having already dedicated several years to Standard and Latin dances. He eventually turned his hobby into a profession by completing vocational training with the General German Dance Teachers Association (ADTV), where he also works as an examiner for WCS and has been teaching for over 10 years. He has also gained experience through competitions, both in Standard dances and in West Coast Swing, where he competes in the WSDC Advanced Division.
Lotte discovered West Coast Swing after dancing Salsa and immediately fell in love with the dance. What she loves most about WCS is the connection and the ability to incorporate all kinds of dance styles. Before discovering her passion for WCS almost three years ago, Lotte primarily danced Hip Hop.
She enjoys traveling to international events and is always eager to try out new events and places.

- If you cancel before 28.09.24 the amount already paid will be refunded.
- If you cancel after 28.09.24 only 50% of the amount already paid or still to be paid will be refunded!
- If you cancel 24 hours before the start of the course or if you fail to cancel, no costs will be refunded! Costs still to be paid must be paid 100%!
